About OCSS
Mission
OCSS provides programs and services to meet the needs of off-campus and commuter students and to address the needs of persons wishing to live and engage in the University District and local community.
Empowerment, collaboration, personalization of services and a deep commitment to diversity and integrity are hallmarks of our efforts.
Through Off-Campus Relations OCSS meets the needs and addresses the concerns of community residents by building and fostering effective relations and establishing networks through listening and collaboration to promote a shared positive community spirit. We work with landlords, community members and city officials to foster a deeper understanding, appreciation, mutual respect and trust among and between university district stake-holders.
Through Commuter Student Services OCSS provides programs and services for students who live at home with a parent or guardian or commute from beyond the university district to connect with the campus community. Through education and creative opportunities we enhance commuter students' experiences and success culminating in graduation.
Through the off-campus Housing Services OCSS facilitates the transitioning of Ohio state students, faculty and staff into the university district and surrounding communities. We assist in locating housing and/or roommates that meet their individualized needs.
Through Off-Campus programs OCSS helps to educate and assist students in developing independent life skills and being responsible community members.
