Off-Campus and Commuter Student Services is here for you!!
Welcome Commuter Students! Commuter Students are those students who live outside of the University District and must drive or utilize public transportation from home to attend class. The office of Off-Campus and Commuter Student Services provides several services for commuting students to assist them while on campus including the commuter lounge, lockers, microwave and refrigerator, study space and information on campus programs and resources.
Off-Campus and Commuter Student Services is dedicated to creating an extraordinary experience for commuter students at The Ohio State University. Employed by OCCSS, Commuter Liaisons are Ohio State commuter students who work to enhance the commuter experience by providing engaging programs, useful resources and availability to answer questions and point you in the right direction. To contact a CL, stop by 3106 Ohio Union or email us today at offcampus.osu.edu.
Commuter Mentor Program

The Commuter Mentor program’s goal is to increase the commuter student retention rate, increase individual attention provided to first year commuters and to ensure first year commuters are aware of on-campus events and resources. The Commuter Mentor serves as a resource for mentees to go to with all questions and concerns, as well as, connects mentees with campus resources and events while providing regular check-ins and reflections with mentees.
Participation in this program includes:
- Receiving weekly email updates
- Bi-weekly one on one meetings with the Commuter Liaisons
- Monthly group events on-campus and around the Columbus area.
The Commuter Liaisons (CL) host a variety of events to engage the commuter student body at Ohio State. These events are held throughout the year in various areas around campus such as the west campus Carmacks, Fred Beekman Park and the Ohio Union. Recent CL events include cookie decorating, Fall Fest, Hello Hillel, Commuter Chill-outs, Good Morning Commuters and more. Attending these events is a great way to meet other commuters and to get to know your Community Liaisons!
