Commuter Student Organization Elections

Nominee Information

Office for which nominees can be selected:

Position: President
Responsibilities: The President is responsible for conducting the organization’s meetings. This includes scheduling the weekly meetings according to all officers’ availability, preparing an agenda for all meetings; calling to and maintaining the order throughout the duration of all CSO meetings; conducting any preliminary discussions to voting on new business, facilitating discussion among members in an orderly fashion throughout the duration of the meeting, and bringing the meeting to a close. The President should have weekly one-on-one meetings with the CSO’s advisors and maintain constant communication with the organization’s members and officers about meeting times, changes in schedule, and new business being brought to the meetings. The President will attend officer training through the SOURCE at the beginning of their term. The President is designated the official contact and has sole access to the management section on the SOURCE website. The President will also serve as the official diplomat and dignitary on behalf of the commuter student organization at all university functions and events that require a representative on the program’s behalf.

Position: Vice-President
Responsibilities: The Vice-President shall first and foremost agree to assume all duties of the President should the President not be able to fulfill them for any reason. The Vice-President should monitor or check-in with the Co-Chairpersons in the organization, evaluate the need for the continuation of each Co-chairperson, and recommend the termination or creation of co-chairpersons to the CSO and the advisor. The Vice-President is a voting member of the organization. The Vice-President should maintain constant communication with the President and sit-in occasionally on the one-on-one meetings between the President and advisors.

Position: Treasurer
Responsibilities: The Treasurer is responsible for keeping records of the organization’s finances. The treasurer along with the organization’s advisor will be responsible for signing the organization’s checks in order to make purchases, pay debts, or otherwise exchange funds of the organization. The Treasurer is responsible for informing all members of the organization of the organization’s financial status. The treasurer is responsible for attending training at the start of their term. The treasurer also applies for funding quarterly and completes the annual audit each year.

Position: Communications Officer
Responsibilities: The Treasurer is responsible for keeping records of the organization’s finances.
