Off-Campus Programs
Off-Campus Student Services oversees and supports various programs whose mission is to improve the quality of life for those living in the University District. OCSS engages students, landlords, businesses, city officials and university personnel to be actively involved in addressing the unique concerns of this diverse community.
OCSS oversees the Adopt-A-Street program which allows student organizations to 'adopt' streets in the University District and agree to conduct monthly litter clean-ups and quarterly literature drops on their adopted street. BuckEYES Watch, a neighborhood crime watch program supported by OCSS, brings together students who are interested in being actively involved with crime reduction strategies in their neighborhoods and the Columbus Police Department who provides on going crime watch training. OCSS also provides the administrative support for Community Ambassadors. This unique program fosters peer-to-peer relationships among students in the off-campus area through various projects and programs while helping to keep off-campus residents informed.
