Condominium A multi-unit property in which each unit can be owned by a different owner. A condominium comes in various forms, e.g. townhouse, apartment, house. Duplex/Town House An apartment having rooms on two floors that are connected by a staircase. Half Double This is a house divided into two units standing side-by-side. House This generally refers to a dwelling that one person/family or a group of people would rent in order to live together. A house typically has 3 or more bedrooms, with at least one bathroom, kitchen, living room, sometimes a family room, sometimes a dining room, and often a basement.
Room in a Private Home This generally refers to a property that the owner lives in and is renting out a bedroom. You would usually have access to the common areas of the property. Rooming House A room in a multi-bedroom house. You would have your own bedroom, typically with a lock and key to the door. You would share common areas, such as the kitchen and the bathroom, with other tenants.
Studio/Efficiency An apartment usually containing only a single room plus kitchen and bathroom. Some studios will have small alcoves which can be used as sleeping or studying space.
