Ride Share and Carpool Listings Off-Campus Student Services Welcome to the Off Campus Student Services Ride Share and Carpool listings, a service for students, faculty and staff of The Ohio State University wishing to share transportation information with other members of the university community and allow users to arrange shared transportation to or from the campus of The Ohio State University. Before visiting the Rideshare and Carpool listings, and learning more about how to use this service, please take a moment to read through our Ride Share and Carpool User Agreement below. After you have read this agreement, click “I agree.” By doing so you indicate that you have read and agree with the terms of use for this service. You will then be allowed to sign in to the system using your OSU username and password. If you do not know your username and password please contact OIT at https://acctmgt.service.ohio-state.edu/ or dial 688-HELP. User Agreement These listings are provided solely as a service for students, faculty and staff of The Ohio State University wishing to share transportation information with other members of the university community and to allow users to arrange shared transportation to or from the campus of The Ohio State University. These listings are meant as a forum only and no endorsement of any user by The Ohio State University, the Office of Student Affairs or Off-Campus Student Services (collectively, “the University”) can be implied. Be aware that the University does not perform background checks or verify the insurance status, licensure or driving record of users. To the extent desired, you are solely responsible for obtaining and verifying this information. By using this service you agree that the University is not responsible for your personal safety, comfort, or successful travel arrangements and hereby agree to release the University from any and all liability that might arise from your use of this service. The University does not verify the information listed, assumes no responsibility for uses that may be made of it, and reserves the right to delete inappropriate listings as outlined in this user agreement. The University is not responsible for the actions of users of this service. When users contact each other through this service and agree to participate in any ride share or carpool relationship each should ascertain the condition of their situation to insure personal safety and that no laws will be violated in the course of their association. The University will not be responsible for any financial arrangements to which users might agree. You agree, through your use of this ride share and carpool site that you will not post any material that is false, defamatory, inaccurate, abusive, vulgar, hateful, harassing, obscene, profane, sexually oriented, threatening, invasive of a person’s privacy or otherwise violate any law as these are inappropriate to this site. Correspondence with other members of this service is permitted only for the purpose of arranging rides and travel. Emails may not be sent to members of the ride share and carpooling lists to promote a website or otherwise promote a public or private venture or service. Spam, flooding, advertisements, chain letters, solicitations, and pyramid schemes are also inappropriate to this ride share and carpool service. The messages expressed on this ride share and carpooling board are those of the author and not of the University. The University may monitor the contents of listings to the ride share and carpooling board but is not responsible for their content. Any user who feels that a listing is inappropriate or contains objectionable content may report that listing using the “report listing” feature included on the “view listing” feature for each individual listing. You have the ability, through the registration process to choose a user name. We recommend you use an appropriate name and one that does not disclose your identity. You agree to not share your password with others for your own protection and the protection of other users of this ride share board and carpooling service. You agree to never use other member’s accounts to post information and browse the ride share and carpooling listings. You also agree to never use your account to post information and browse the rideshare and carpool listings for individuals other than yourself. To maximize the effectiveness of the listings, only one ride per listing is to be included in posts to the rideshare listings. Please place additional listings for additional trips. You are permitted to post separate listing for the return leg of a round trip. You may use the comments section of your listing to describe flexibility in travel arrangements. All users can correspond initially by anonymous email. You send your message to a users user name by using a form on this site. We forward your correspondence to that user’s regular email address. While this structure is intended to prevent your private contact information from being displayed directly on the site, we cannot guarantee the privacy or confidentiality of user information. Privacy Policy We will collect no personal information about you unless you voluntarily provide it to us. We do not create individual profiles. We will not intentionally divulge or distribute member information with out permission except in response to verified requests from law enforcement or emergency services or agencies. We will never divulge or distribute member information for commercial use. Email is not a secure medium. Personal information sent via the Internet can be intercepted. It is suggested therefore that you consider the advisability of sending messages that contain sensitive or personal information. Listings may be monitored by the University to deter the inappropriate use of the site. There is no reasonable expectation of privacy in the use of this ride share and carpooling service.
