Community Events

Willie J. Young, Sr. Off-Campus and Commuter Student Engagement (OCCSE) works to build community in the off-campus area by hosting several events and encouraging students to socialize and meet fellow community members. A stronger sense of community fosters pride and respect, making the off-campus community a better place to visit and live for everyone.

Off-Campus Community Welcome & Block Party

Each year, the week prior to the start of autumn semester classes, volunteers across the university and city welcome new and returning residents into the University District, providing students with essential off-campus living information.

Food Truck Event Series

Hosted by our Community Ambassadors, the Off-Campus Food Truck Series aims to bring together the community to share resources, meet neighbors, and have fun!  Look out for updates here, or follow us on Instagram @Offcampus_OSU or more information.

  • Tuesday, February 13 from 4-6 p.m. @ Curl Viewpoint (Truck outside and activities upstairs) 
  • Thursday, March 21 from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. @ West Plaza (Outside the Performance Hall of the Ohio Union) 
  • Thursday, April 11 from 4-6 p.m. @ University Square (Corner of N. High & E. 15th St.) - CANCELLED DUE TO WEATHER

Clean-Up Columbus 

Undergraduate Student Government in collaboration with Willie J. Young, Sr. Off-Campus and Commuter Student Engagement and Sorority and Fraternity Life host monthly initiatives to keep our community clean. These clean-ups bring together students and community members with the goal of making our community cleaner, elevating the sense of pride we have in the Ohio State community, and positively impacting safety in the community. Throughout the course of these events, we will be collecting and disposing of loose trash and recycling in the University District.

  • April 14th @ 11 a.m.
