November 8 is National First-Generation Celebration Day!
Join Ohio State as we recognize First-Gen Day across all of our campuses! This event is to celebrate the unique experiences of members of the Ohio State community who identify as first-generation college students.
At 1:15 p.m., folks from across campus will meet at the South Oval for a FirstGen celebratory photo. This amazing photo will be taken by drone! We encourage all first-gen Buckeyes to attend -- students, staff, faculty, and alum. Don't miss out on this incredible photo op!
The term “first-generation college student” means different things to different people. Here at Ohio State, our definition refers to students whose parents have not completed a four-year degree.
If you require an accommodation such as live captioning or interpretation to participate in this event, please contact Ari Grubaugh at grubaugh.20@osu.edu or 614-688-8449. Requests made one week in advance of the event will generally allow us to provide seamless access, but the university will make every effort to meet requests made after this date.
Event attendees may number in the hundreds.
Event may include group activities, handshakes, and/or require attendee interaction.
