Community Events
Willie J. Young Sr. Off-Campus and Commuter Student Engagement (OCCSE) works to build community in the off-campus area by hosting several events and encouraging students to socialize and meet fellow community members. A stronger sense of community fosters pride and respect, making the off-campus community a better place to visit and live for everyone.
Off-Campus Community Welcome
Each year, the week prior to the start of autumn semester classes, volunteers across the university and city welcome new and returning residents into the University District, providing students with essential off-campus living information.

University District Clean-Up
Student Life Willie J. Young, Sr. Off-Campus and Commuter Student Engagement has been hosting several University District Clean-Up events throughout the semester. These clean-ups bring together students and community members with the goal of making our community cleaner, elevating the sense of pride we have in the Ohio State community, and positively impacting safety in the community. Throughout the course of these events, we will be collecting and disposing of loose trash and recycling in the University District.
