Off-Campus and Commuter Student Services works to build community in the off-campus area by hosting several events and encouraging students to socialize and meet their fellow community members. It is our belief that a stronger sense of community fosters pride and respect, consequently making the off-campus community a better place to visit and live for everyone.
Off-Campus Community Welcome
Each year, during the week prior to the start of class, Off-Campus and Commuter Student Services along with volunteers from the Office of Student Life welcome new and returning residents in the University District. The event welcomes returning students back and introduces the Community Ambassador Program and provides students with essential information regarding their off-campus rights and responsibilities. (Due to COVID-19, this effort may be temporarily suspended).
Buckeye BBQ After Dark
The Buckeye BBQ After Dark brings together students residing in the University District and community organizations around Columbus to get to know our neighbors at the start of each school year. This event takes place on the front lawn of the GEMS School located at 140 E 16th Ave. Everyone in the community is welcome to come enjoy free food, music and games!
If you have any questions about any of these events, please contact our office at firstname.lastname@example.org, or call us at 614-292-0100.
